Older Toddlers
Older toddlers (children aged roughly 2¼ – 3½ years old) are based in Green Room. The transition from their previous room is carefully planned to ensure successful settling into their new room, and will be discussed with you beforehand.
Some of the activities enjoyed by these older children are more complex and sophisticated versions of those they enjoyed in their previous room. These include drawing, art, cooking, handicrafts, modelling, collage, music, movement, sand and water play and stories.
The educational content is a little more structured, and when they are ready, children are introduced to the first steps in reading, numeracy, writing and computing skills, and work on colours, shapes, sizes, numbers, time, structure etc. Outings for the children are an important learning experience as well as good exercise, and care is taken to ensure as wide a range of experiences as possible are provided for each child.
